Fellowship Baptist Church is evangelical, evangelistic, non-charismatic and
denominationally related to the Baptist Missionary Association of America.
|
Our Purpose |
The purpose of Fellowship Baptist Church is to attract and
win people to faith in Jesus Christ, to encourage them to meaningful worship
and godly character and to equip them to do the work God has called them to do.
|
| |
Our Core Values |
1.The Transforming Power of God's Word -
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and through faithful teaching and accurate
application has the power to transform lives forever. In all things we seek to find the
balance of being Bible-based while culturally relevant.
2. People Matter -
We believe that lost people matter to God, and therefore, ought to matter to the church.
We make it our goal to develop meaningful friendships with our neighbors and others in
our circle of influence so that we might earn the opportunity of sharing Christ with them.
3. A Philosophy of Grace -
We believe grace is the only basis for our acceptance with Christ and that Christians
should demonstrate a spirit of grace towards one another and the world. Rather than
trying to motivate people through guilt we will seek to encourage them through an
attitude of love and gratefulness to God.
4. A Christian Self-Image -
We believe spiritual growth begins with understanding who we are in Christ and
what is ours to enjoy as a result of His sacrifice on the cross. This positive self image is
not based on who we are or what we have done, but on what Christ has already done for
us.
5. Growing True Disciples -
We believe spiritual maturity and Christlikeness is God's goal for all of His children
and it should be our goal too. Since every Christ-follower is responsible for his or her
own spiritual growth, we will provide guidance, resources, and motivation to help
Christians become fully mature.
6. All Christians Are Ministers -
We believe all Christ-followers have been uniquely gifted for ministry and only
through using these gifts and talents for God's glory do we find significance and purpose.
At Fellowship, every member is a minister.
7. Servant Leadership -
We believe Jesus' example of leading by serving is the pattern for all true spiritual
leadership. Our goal is to develop leaders who are not focused on who you are, or what
you know, but how you serve.
8. Building Strong Families -
We believe that building successful marriages and strong families is fundamental to
fulfilling our God-given mission and impacting our ministry area. Children's ministry,
Student ministry, and ministry devoted to enriching marriages and strengthening families
will always be a priority.
9. True Community -
We believe that genuine fellowship, Christian community, and biblical accountability can
only be experienced in a small group environment. Therefore, we will provide a variety
of opportunities for people to connect on a deeper level and fulfill the "one another"
commandments of the New Testament.
10. A Church Without Walls -
We believe that God has called us to be "salt and light" and to penetrate each
neighborhood and community we serve with the Gospel of Christ. Through neighborhood
HOME Groups, community involvement, and an outward focus we desire to be known as
"the church next door."

Doctrine |
- BIBLE - Every word in the original writings of the Holy Scriptures
of both the Old and New Testaments is inspired of God, without error, and of
supreme authority in all matters of faith and life. (II Tim. 3:16; II Peter 1:21)
- INTERPRETATION OF SCRIPTURE - We believe the approach to interpreting the
Scriptures is the literal, grammatical, historical approach.
- GOD - The Godhead exists eternally in three Persons, the Father, the Son,
and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one God. (Deut. 6:4; Psalm 90:2;
Matt. 28:19; John 1:1-3, 8:58, 10:30; Acts 5:3-4; II Cor. 13:14)
- JESUS CHRIST - The eternal Son of God became incarnate in the Lord
Jesus Christ, being born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.
(John 1:1, 14, 18, 5:18; Phil 2:6-11; Col. 1:19; 2:9; I Tim. 2:5; Heb. 1:1-9;
I John 5:20)
- HOLY SPIRIT - The Holy spirit is the Third Person of the Godhead,
who regenerates, indwells, baptizes, and seals all believers in Christ,
and fills those yielded to God. (Acts 5:3-4; Matt. 28:19; John 3:3-7; Rom. 8:9;
I Cor. 2:12; 6:19; 12:13; Eph. 1:13; 4:30; 5:18)
- MAN - Man was created in the image and likeness of God, but in Adam
all mankind fell into sin with the result that all men are sinners,
hopelessly sinful in themselves, apart from the grace of God. (Gen. 1:27; 9:6;
Rom. 3:23; 5:12; 8:6-7; Eph. 2:1-3)
- SALVATION - Salvation is received by faith alone in Christ,
who died as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins according
to the Scriptures and rose again, and all who believe on Him are
justified on the basis of His shed blood and receive the gift of eternal life.
This is the message of the Gospel. (Acts 4:12; 16:31; I Cor. 15:1-4; Eph. 2:8-9;
John 1:12; John 3:16; Romans 5:1)
- ASSURANCE - All who are born of the Spirit through faith in Christ can
have assurance of salvation and are eternally secure in Christ. (John 10:27-29;
Rom. 8:1; Eph. 1:13-14; John 5:24; II Tim. 1:12; I John 5:11-13)
- ORDINANCES - The scriptural ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper
are for all believers in Christ. (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 8:12, 36-38; I Cor. 11:23-26)
- SATAN - Satan is one of several names given in the Bible for the personal
being who is the source of all evil. The Bible pictures him as "your adversary
the devil", as a roaring lion, walking about, seeking whom he may devour.
(1 Peter 5:8) As the slanderer, the devil slanders God to man (Gen. 3:1-5) and
man to God. (Job 1:9) As the adversary he successfully tempts man to rebel
against God. Satan is a power second only to God but is subject to God. (Job 1:6)
He was created by God and will one day be cast into the lake of fire. (Rev. 20:10)
- RESURRECTION - The scriptures teach that Jesus Christ rose from the dead in His
glorified body and all that put their trust in Him will be raised bodily to live
with Him forever in His Kingdom. The Bible speaks of the resurrection of the Just
and the resurrection of the Unjust. The Just will be raised to live with Christ
and the Unjust will be raised to live in Hell. (1 Cor. 15, 1 John 3:2, 1 Thes. 4:1-18,
Rev. 20:14-15)
