OUR STUDENT MINISTRY MISSION

In Fellowship's Student Ministry, the Student Pastor, parents, students, and volunteers all work together to form the ideas and direction for the ministry God has called us to. Our purpose is reflected in our mission statement:

“The Student Ministry at Fellowship Baptist is called to partner with parents to grow students
to KNOW and LOVE God, their families, one another, and their world.”

Our mission is simple and yet very profound. To “know” and “love” God, our families, one another and our world will require…

A life of abandon and obedience to God's Word.
Learning God's truth and applying it in a real way to our lives.
Developing a faith in God that is alive, personal, and real to each of us.
Each student valuing the other members of this local Body of Christ.

As the diagram above displays, Fellowship Student Ministry believes that there is value to everyone who has been called to work with the Student Ministry at our church. No person is more important than another, but each person can use their gift to its full potential as they serve the Lord. This is done through prayer, leadership of the Spirit of God, training, and a spirit of cooperation.

As Forney grows, so does our responsibility as a ministry to be faithful to reach out to the many students and families who are making Forney their home. We WILL be FAITHFUL to make a REAL difference in the lives of students. Your student is more than a NUMBER to us!

GETTING YOUR STUDENT CONNECTED

If you need help getting your son or daughter connected to FSM, PLEASE allow us to help. Our Student Ministry Team will do three things:

(1) We will have one of our adult leaders call and/or write your student to personally invite them to one of our events.

(2) We will have one of our student leaders call and/or write your student to personally invite them to one of our events.

(3) We will share whatever information we can that might help you help your student get involved. For example: your student might say, "I don't know anyone who goes there." That's a fair concern, but chances are high that from the 150+ students who are involved in our student ministry, they will know someone. We'll give you names, offer options, and be waiting for your student to arrive so they will never have to sit alone.

A member of our Student Ministry Team is available any Wednesday night or weekend. We want to meet your needs in any way that we can. We would love to meet you and answer your questions.
