A Foolish Faith | Judges 11:1-11

1. Why do you think the writer of Judges 11 wants us to know about Jephthah’s unfaithful mother? Why not leave that out of the story?

2. Judges 11:2 reads that Jephthah’s brothers drove him out. What do you think this did to his confidence?

3. Have you ever been bullied or mistreated for something that you could not change? Would you be willing to share it?

4. Judges 11:3 reads that worthless fellows gathered around Jephthah. Do you think this happens today when the church turns its back on people?

5. Why do you think Jephthah was so willing to take a vow to better his chances of victory?

6. Have you ever done anything foolish to be liked by other people?

7. How had God prepared Jephthah already for this battle according to Judges 11:1?
