Don’t Let Failure Define You | Hebrews 11:32 & Judges 4:1-10

1. This morning we said Deborah may very well be the biggest hero in Judges 4. How did God use Deborah as the unsung hero in Judges 4? What hope does her story give you?

2. In Judges 4: 8, Barak puts stipulations on his willingness to obey the Lord. What is the danger in putting stipulations on our willingness to follow God’s plan for our lives?

3. Does the fact that God still used Barak, despite verse 8, encourage you? What does it say about God’s character and plan?

4. Our failure is not nearly as significant as our response to it. How does God use failures, and struggles, in our lives to build us up?

5. We also said Barak’s lack of faithfulness didn’t impact the faithfulness of God. Read 2 Timothy 2: 13. What encouragement does this verse give you?

6. Read Psalm 145: 8-9. Do you struggle to believe God can/will use you despite your struggles in faith? Why is this such a dangerous thought?

7. Do you take any encouragement that Barak is listed in Hebrews 11 after what we have read today? Why do you think God’s Word includes stories like this?
