Reward
In this week’s message, Pastor Rick explored the concept of spiritual rewards and our calling to participate in God’s established work through the church. Drawing from Matthew 10:40-42, he emphasized that we don’t have to wait until heaven to experience the rewards of Christian life – the greatest reward is participating in what God is doing right now. Pastor Rick explained that Jesus established the church as His work on earth, complete with ordinances like baptism and communion, and commissioned believers to make disciples. He highlighted three biblical images of the church: a body with many members, a building with Christ as the cornerstone, and the bride of Christ. The pastor challenged the congregation to move beyond a consumer mentality toward active service, reminding them that every member has been gifted to minister and that being involved in God’s work is itself a tremendous reward.
