The All-Important Question
This week, Pastor Rick continued the series in Matthew by walking through Peter’s confession in Matthew 16:13–20, where Peter declares that Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of the living God.” He reminded the church that every miracle, teaching, and story in Matthew has been building toward this central question: “Who do you say that I am?” Each person must personally answer what they believe about Jesus, not based on family, tradition, or culture, but by the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
Pastor Rick also emphasized that Jesus Himself is the rock on which the church is built, and that the gates of hell will not prevail against His church. Because of Christ’s authority and His finished work on the cross, believers are called to boldly advance the gospel, trusting that He is with us “to the end of the age.” Listen to or watch the full sermon today.
