It Seems They Never Learn
This Sunday, Pastor Rick continued in Matthew 21 with the account of Jesus clearing the temple for the second time — driving out the money changers and those selling sacrifices in a display of righteous anger. Drawing from this passage, he shared four key takeaways for the church today. First, the temple and the church are not the same: God no longer dwells in a building but within His people, who are now the temple of the Holy Spirit. Second, gimmicks and giveaways should be the exception and not the norm — the church can be both evangelistic and a place where believers grow deep in God’s Word. Third, we must prioritize worship and be willing to sacrifice for it, even when it isn’t convenient. And finally, Pastor Rick warned against becoming too casual with God — though Jesus calls us friends, He still deserves our honor and reverence.
