Lesson from a Potter | Romans 9:1-33

1. Why do you think it was important for Paul to be so insistent that he was telling the truth in verses 1-2?

2. Do you really think that Paul would be willing to be separated from God if it resulted in Israel being saved? Who does that?

3. What advantages did the Israelites have over other nations to accept Christ? Why do you think they rejected Him, with so many advantages? (verses 4-5)

4. Read John 1:11-12. How does this text compare with Romans 9?

5. Read verses 14-18. What do you think about these verses? Do these verses trouble you or give you comfort that God is sovereign?

6. What is the lesson from the potter? (verse 21)

7. Do you think people make a similar mistake today by trusting in their Christian heritage or their upbringing to assume they are going to heaven?
